Description
Michael Ketcher – Gold, Hard Money and Financial Gurus
For centuries, gold has been considered a safe haven: it is tangible, unlike an account balance, and its value is relatively stable, especially as a hedge against inflation. To what degree should investors seek security in gold, or in other kinds of hard money? In the second part of this presentation we discuss the financial writers and gurus whose analysis and comments reflect, and sometimes influence, the world of finance and economics.
The Secrets of the Great Investors series is a collection of presentations that explain, in understandable language, the strategies, tactics, and principles that have produced great wealth, and how you can improve your financial future. History’s greatest investors used powerful investing philosophies to produce superior results, and you can learn from their successes and mistakes.
Investment philosophy covers numerous strategies with gold, stocks, bonds, commodities, etc. People buying this are more than likely those interested in gold. It’s ok and worth getting but the speaker isn’t a gold bug which takes away from the potential. I found there were a lot of contradictions such as Green Span or Kinsley believed in gold but changed their views which maybe true but it’s the presentation of the material which is delivered in a “even they saw the light.” The best message for me was the fact that gold is an investment where most people who buy gold tend to hold onto it and if an investment, buy low and sell high. The sell high is a challenge when working with physical metals and psychologically a bigger challenge for those who believe in the yellow metal.
