Biography

Matthew V. Hanson was born in Madison, Wisconsin, to parents of Danish, German, Norwegian, and English descent. According to family lore, Cecil Rhodes is a distant relation.

Dr. Hanson graduated from Harvard College with a degree in English and later went on to receive a Ph.D. in Religion and Literature from The University Professors Program at Boston University.

He has written widely on a number of subjects including government policy, finance, and the practice of writing.
